Catalana de Diagnostic I Cirurgia S.L. is a Spanish hospital engaged in the provision of surgical services, and other hospital activities. The hospital was incorporated in November of 2000, and has its registered office situated in Sant Cugat del Valles, west of Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. It was constructed in 1984. The hospital is a fully owned subsidiary of Sapio Sanidad S.L., which operates hospital in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, United Kingdom, France, Portugal, Spain and Germany. Sapio is market leader in Spain and Sweden, and number in the UK and France. Catalana de Diagnostic is the first hospital in Europe to be certified according to the Joint Commission, and a European leader in the provision of sanitary management services. The hospital has 310 beds, after it has modernized its building in 2001. The hospital provides medical, diagnostic, and treatment services that include physician, nursing, and other health services to inpatients and the specialized accommodation services required by inpatients. Its central services include clinical analysis, pathological anatomy, pharmacy, imaging diagnostics, peripheral and cerebral vascular interventionism, intensive medicine, nuclear medicine, and neuroangiography. The hospital has also incorporated special units and concepts such as the minimum invasive surgery, obesity, orthopedic. Other offers range from medical services for patients with respiratory illnesses, such as asthma, sleep apnea syndrome, respiratory failure, and mucoviscidosis, and medical beds and hoists, to drips and analgesics, ambulatory insulin therapy, and nutrition advice.
